Auto destructive sculpture created as part of ‘Royal Road to the Unconscious’ curated by Simon Morris and participating in Dallas Seitz’ ‘For Irma “Collected Objects From the Interpretation of Dreams”. Sigmund Freud’
Based on Freud’s ‘The Interpretation of Dreams ‘ objects were chosen by Seitz that are commonly found in dreams to be represented by participants. We chose to create one letter from the alphabet. We chose the ‘Z’ for it’s humorous representation of the state of sleep, and in the vain of auto destructive art theory, we sculpted a pile of Z’s out of rubber erasers, objects that at once remove content and slowly destroy themselves.
